I have little experience with self portraits, so any comments or

suggestions are appreciated. Cheers :) ~

Good use of blacks to create high contrast. By hiding your face, you make the viewer wonder about that which they cannot see.  The pose and hidden face suggest that you are sad or withdrawn about something, and I assume that is what you are trying to portray here.  The only thing that doesn't quite work for me is the white stripe on your sleeve - I think if you made this black also it would have slightly more impact.  Good self expression - nicely done.
