ianward 0 Posted August 18, 2011 This has the potential to be a good photograph, but there are a few things that you need to bear in mind. What is the main interest? In this case the gorgeous little girl. The background adds nothing to the picture so it should be blurred out. Select a large appeture like F4, this will focus on the little girl and give a nice out of focus background.The balance of the photo is really important, we generally conform to the thirds rule. Here you have one third of the main subject and two thirds of nothing, suggesting quite a wide angle lens was used. Nothing wrong with this but she needs to be a bit more prominent. NOT in the center of the frame but to one side as you have here is best. You could crop some of the top off too.The skin tones are good and not blown out but it does lack a bit of contrast. She has lovely big brown eyes that will be a good thing to focus in on when you get in close. Link to comment
