heather_boers 0 Posted August 16, 2011 Critique Welcomed Nikon D3000, 55mm, 1/13sec, F13, ISO200 (still having trouble on my end w/ auto input...I already have help here on that) Link to comment
gregverena 350 Posted August 16, 2011 Heather,This is better, though the blue background is weird... but, at 1/13 sec, this is pretty good clarity. But that's unnecessary-raise your iso as much as you can till you start seeing noise, then back off a little- with your camera, and good light, would think at least 1000 would work - maybe more, this should give you a much faster shutter - handheld, outside, 1/200 to 1/500 will improve chances of reducing movement to a minimum. You still need a sharpening program though.Re: exif info. Is your camera set to create it and append to the image? I assume Nikon offers this choice- not familiar with them. Check your manual under exif.Keep goin' Link to comment
heather_boers 0 Posted August 17, 2011 Hi Greg, The blue background "came along" with some good corrections on an auto-correct. I was wondering if it would just look brown to other people...I guess not...which is good to know :). The Exif issue I have found out is from the software I am using to resize my photos. I need to find an editing program that will work better for me, and learning new programs is not something I find easy, but I have no choice. I have to tell you, I am taking your advice to heart. I did as you suggested on another photo and really did a "serious photoshoot" revolving around f-stops with these recent floral pictures. It was really helpful. I think some practice around ISOs is definitely a good idea. I really don't have a feel for how the trade off is for ISO graininess vs sharpness. Perhaps practicing is the only way to learn. I appreciate your following my progress. Heather Link to comment
