This is art. You are a very good photogrpher and artest. The shadows are especially difficult to accomplish - I know I tried (once).

Reguards,

the conspicuous lack of beauty really focusses this one on message.  it's almost like Bertolt Brecht's idea of Verfremdungseffekt, alienating the audience so they have to concentrate on the message.  best, j

Another great imagination.I liked the B&W version much one thing I would like to mention here.I have never seen so much clouds in a desert sky.

My best regards.

Kallol, I'm not familiar with deserts, but the one who is, Chris H (So Calif), said it is exactly looking as on this picture, see his comment!

Another inspired work.  Skilled, imaginative, thought provoking.  I'd love to watch you at work.  The shadows and clouds are fascinating.

You are the Master!

Thank you Rassie, Nima, Maria, Brent and Dana!

Brent and Dana, here is the secret of doing the shadows, my personal invention:

1. I have all the figures on PSD files, I do the PSD files with careful selection using polygonal lasso tool and open new file, drag on drop selection to the new file and save it as PSD file!

2. When I choose place and size of the PSD file (figure which is then a layer) I duplicate the figure (layer), free transform and flip vertically and place it approximately where it should be as a shadow, lower the darkness and contrast couple of times until I get it totally black and blend layers until I get the desired opacity, IE its appearance on the background

3. Transform the shadow (which is now copy of the layer) according to the source of light and the direction and angle of the rays. And when the position is exactly adjusted blur more ten to twenty times (which in this case I didn't do).

4. It is important to point that I put the copy of the layer (now shadow) behind the layer itself and if necessary adjust it with clone tool and erasing tool if it appears with some parts/details where it can't as shadow be!

5. Please note that whatever intervention you do on the layer you must first choose the right layer and then adjust whatever you intend to adjust, transformation, brightness/contrast, cloning, erasing etc!

That would be the whole secret of doing the shadows of more complicated by form figures!

Sorry for delay but I got my holidays, you made a masterpiece here! For technicality but more for the conceptual issue! Bravo Pierre!

Very sorry I missed this one earlier Pierre. Stunning image with a fine collection of 'travellers'. I can see a lot of thought went into this image, your perspective is excellent as is your presentation.

Kindest regards, Gail

Pierre, This family is a real nice composed unity. But they seem unique in this surrealistic and desolated landscape. Regards Marco
