fstaples 0 Posted August 19, 2011 Great job Pierre! super composition and I like the way you have flattended the image and smoothed the edges of the insertions. Thanks for sharing! Link to comment

JamieK 1 Posted August 20, 2011 That agrees perfectly with what I said. The background is in the manner of the technique you describe, which would involve underexposure and overdevelopment to make the contrast high and shadows darker than normal. The bird does not seem to come from the same process or belong to the same image, though. It makes the whole think look like a Weegee (Arthur Fellig) photo. "American Night" should apply to the bird as well as the background, I think. There were a lot of different techniques to emulate low lighting conditions in the cinema. I haven't studied them, but I've seen how different they look in various films. One of the most interesting is Hitchcock's "To Catch a Thief." best, j Link to comment
harlequin 0 Posted August 28, 2011 I like the humor in this piece. Well done. How many times have we seen the circling birds and wondered what was on the ground? This would be good even without thebird in front, nice sense of composition and story. - Charles Link to comment
