the image itself is quite good and well conceived. the background colours work very well but since you asked I'll give you my two cents worth...

a wider angle providing more space around the fork and its shadow would give this a more surreal mood.

Also,  closest to the fork, the shadow would be best made darker and then fading into the current depth.
