Wow Bridget, just wonderfully done. To me its even more impressive than the other image you got of this gentleman. The lighting is wonderful, highlighting the essential elements perfectly. The DOF is perfect. I feel sucked into his experience as he plays. You really hit the ball out of the park with this one. Outstanding work.

You managed to picture the intimacy of the violin player and his instrument in a beautifull way. It is as if time was suspended.

Bridget this is wonderful. He is totally lost in his music, and you communicated this so very well.

I just wanted to post a few words up to say thank you to you all.

I am totally, honestly (and nicely) surprised by the number of lovely comments and ratings I have received since I put this photo up today.

I have been doing photography for under a year, inspired by Sean Driver who posted on photo.net the most flattering photos of me ever taken. We go out every Monday and take photos together, he has made me look at subjects and see the beauty in everything and everyone.

I suffer from kidney disease and there arent many hobbies I could have taken up that gives the versatility and flexibility that photography does. It is a hobby for everyone, where vision and artistic creativity are unique to each individual.

I have been inspired everyday by looking at the photos posted on this site. Each and every photo has its own merits and I can see something special in each one.

I never thought in a million years that my photo could make it to the first page.....well for today anyway !! It is in a place amongst photographs by photographers who I have learnt so much from already and I am so flattered that it is there.

So enough rambling from me, thanks again to all of you........you made my day x

superb photograph. You've captured the moment very well. I can tell that he is playing an emotional piece. Everything about this photo is great.

My very first impression of your photo was that it has an angelic quality, like something Michelangelo would have painted...I think that the split background above his head that makes the left side of the image dark is part of it, like he is emerging from somewhere...and the blurred background adds to it, as if he is just on the edge of our ability to perceive him...easily missed or ignored by the hurried masses, but clearly present and pouring his music into our world to those that choose to be more aware of the potential and beauty around us, which clearly you are.

Beautifully done and thanks for the lesson...cheers!
