Clever image, Heather. I might suggest to crop it where just the sign and the silver shoes show. Right now, the sign seems a bit to centered and I think the silver in the shoes and in the sign would make a nice composition. Just a thought.

Thanks Margaret.  I will give that a try.  I wish I had both entire shoes to crop from.  There is a bit of clothing hanging in the way. But it may still look nice.  I am tempted to go and reshoot this from an angle to better shoot the shoes...or who knows there might be even more interesting things in the display by now.  I really appreciate the suggestion, thanks again! I tend to agree with Margaret, . . . and think the subject matter could very well be worth a re-visit to re-compose the shoes and the "vintage" sign.

Best wishes,

Thanks Jim, I really appreciate your input.  The votes are in, and a reshoot sounds like a good idea then.  Now what will the shopkeeper think if I go inside and rearrange her window, hmm.  Just kidding! It's in a cute nearby village, will be fun to go back.  Thanks again so much! Heather

Heather, you could revisit, but I think this image has potential.

If you crop the right, you would end up with some of the bling from the purse, and not having all of the other shoe in is fine. It adds a quirky off balance to it, which makes for an interesting composition. The touch of color from the clothng works. You would also cut out the image of the tire. You have a good eye. I have picked up and learned so much from this site. Keep working.

Hi Margaret, I've cropped it toward the left to feature the shoes and the sign.  Unfortunately the tire is still there if I'm cropping to a normal print size.  It does look nice I think.  I miss the pastel "thing" on the right a little.  It does have a much "stronger" look. Thank you! Got stuck trying to get the new image here...still much to learn!
