elliot 0 Posted May 20, 2003 awesome shot. how were you able to get in so close under the curl? Link to comment
brla 0 Posted May 20, 2003 amazing shot, water has beautiful sense of heaviness and movement. Link to comment
voets 0 Posted May 20, 2003 Tough shot, how do you keep away from getting run over by the surfer or breaking your neck in the surf AND shooting a nice photo? Link to comment
willem_draayer 0 Posted May 20, 2003 Did you save your camers ? I love this very much Link to comment
david_troyer 0 Posted May 27, 2003 The majority of you don't think of these images as art, but I hope you can appreciate just how hard it is to nail one of these. And much thanks to those of you who do! Link to comment
oliver_indra 0 Posted May 29, 2003 Man! Real action going on here! Just 2 thigns: for me the framing is a bit tight, especially at bottom left. The distance between the board and the frame is too small. Second, the lighting on the surfer is too dark, but I se your reasons to keep him like that and not to lose the incredible wave! Good capture of a spectacular moment. Cheers, Link to comment
mauricio_jos__schwarz 0 Posted May 31, 2003 Fantastic treatment of a usual but always challenging subject. Composition is amazing. Link to comment
terry_wells 0 Posted June 12, 2003 A tad underexposed but I alway like a good "tubed" shot. Nice work! Terry Link to comment
j.d._reineke 0 Posted June 13, 2003 Wow! I like the tight framing; I think it adds to the claustrophobic feel. Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 65 Posted August 7, 2003 Here's another that's better than the PoW, in my opinion. Both were taken in a very tight tube, and in both cases the wave was breaking left to right facing onshore. Here the surfer is coming toward you, but I don't feel that it is any less dramatic because we can't see him trying to shoot the entire curl, since we can see the wave closing down behind him. Yes, this is art. Link to comment
siavash_talai 0 Posted July 26, 2005 excellent shot, and nice light looks like a room of water Link to comment
saurabh_rahurkar 0 Posted July 29, 2005 IF THIS ISNT ART THEN MONA LISA ISNT ART....DAMMIT..HOW??????????????????????HOW DO U TAKE THESE MAN....WITH THE KINDA EXPOSURE, THE CRISPNESS..AM TOO FLABBERGASTED Link to comment
alex_kinnan 0 Posted July 31, 2005 "The majority of you don't think of these images as art..." Than the majority are silly. One of my many and varying definitions of art is something I would want to put up on a wall and look at repeatedly. Given that, this (and many of your other pix) is (are) definitely art. mg 0 Posted August 14, 2005 Great shot. What an amazing angle. I suppose I would ideally like a little more space included at the bottom, but well, life is not always ideal - especially in such conditions, I guess. Link to comment

maria_di_liegro 0 Posted September 8, 2008 Hey, David. Gee, right in the thick of the curl! This must have been a thrill, not to mention how tough it is to get these shots. After seeing the film, "Riding Giants", I can totally appreciate this. Curious though: Why did you crop it in such a way? I'd like to know what the original image had in it. Also, we have thousands of members here. Best not to make a blanket statement about the majority! Regards, Maria Link to comment
