alan chan 0 Posted May 20, 2003 David, Good capture of action ! You must have taken a lot before capturng this great moment. I would opt for a tighter crop to eliminate the sky so that the subject becomes more in focus under the sole background of the wave ! Just a suggestion Link to comment
marlene_degrood 0 Posted May 20, 2003 Wow....this has soooo much dimension, almost 3D looking. I can't imagine where you were standing (?) when you took this. The 600mm lens really worked well here to both capture the action and keep the background soft. Great job! Link to comment
david_troyer 0 Posted May 20, 2003 I don't usually shoot surfing from the land but this is one of my better ones. Hope you all enjoy it!!! Link to comment
bill_staples 0 Posted May 21, 2003 in-freaking-credible! So much to say on how great this photo is...one of the best I've seen of the genre. the rule of thirds, the timing, the exposure... near perfect execution. Two small criticisms...to me it appears a bit over-sharpened?, at least in this JPG... the other thing to notice is the dude seems to have an awful sunburn, or the red tint is tad high. Still this is an AWESOME photo, thanks for sharing. Link to comment
kaiblanke 1 Posted May 22, 2003 It looks great, may be a bit too much saturation for my taste. But your in-water shots are just better ! Link to comment
adam_donaldson 0 Posted May 23, 2003 A great perspective of a subject (surfing) that is saturated with too many same-ish images! Well done :-) Link to comment
jody 0 Posted June 16, 2003 "oh, man!" I just said to myself. Brilliant colors, from blue to blue with almost every tone in between. I really, really feel moved by this one! Link to comment
mike_dodd3 0 Posted September 21, 2005 I like the surfer being small as it shows the environment in which he is surfing, boiling waves near the rocks makes for a very exciting picture! Maybe the smallest crop from the top and bottom but thats all. Great picture! Link to comment
