Black and white image needs some pure black and needs some pure white. I don't see it. Need more contrast to impact viewers.

If you look at the shadows, there are true blacks and there are true whites in the blanket and other areas. I personally don't care for high-contrast potraits because it blows out the highlights. Landscapes need contrast for some punch, but this particular shot with any more contrast does not look right because too much detail is lost.

This is a really nice shot...very soothing to look at. I agree though that a little more contrast is needed. There is too much middle-gray. The bear, pajamas, blanket and skin tone are almost all the same shade which puts too much emphasis on the dark hair.

Love the degree of angle you shot this at. VERY NICE. Perfect title. Touching photo.
