3m 0 Posted September 4, 2011 Hi Len, I too like this photo for its naturalness and spontaneous look, and your composition. I like your angle of shooting, enabling the brothers to be portrayed against the (slightly odd looking textures of) the floating dock. Is it made out of rubber, by any chance..? In any event, it separates the boys nicely from the BG, I think, and I like the way the dark water seems to solidly 'anchor' the photo... Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted September 4, 2011 Good of you to offer your observations. I was in an elevated area and so was able to crop out the background of water beyond the dock. The dock is made of what feels & sounds like plastic but there may indeed be a rubber component to it. These guys are my grandsons, two of my favourite subjects. Best, LM. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted September 5, 2011 Thanks for your most welcome visit. Overcast light is usually the most forgiving because of it's lower contrast. Best, LM. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 278 Posted September 14, 2011 I had to see in my dictionary what minnow(s) was! Just some kind of fish! Beautiful tones and fun capture! I can't achieve such a nice B&W photo no matter what I do!Best regards Len!PDE Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted September 14, 2011 Good to have your thoughts on this one. Google & my dictionary are two of my best friends. Don't lament your inability to get a satisfactory B&W. Your abilities in other photo areas are envied. Best, LM. Link to comment
