Spectacular!   I will now have to search for that boat.

Color, exposure perfect.  Thanks for the inspiration.   -Ken

Ken,

Sorry for the late acknowledgement.  I didn't have "notify me of comments" selected.  Thanks for the nice words!  My daughter clued me in to this one.  It's in Inverness Park, Tomales Bay, just behind a small restaurant that I don't remember the name of.

Regards,

This abandoned boat is in Tomales Bay, just north of San Francisco.

Tomales Bay is fifteen miles long and about one mile wide. The

major industry is oyster farming, but clams and mussels are also

found there. The great tidal ranges create large mud flats at times.

It is just adjacent to Point Reyes National Seashore. I was there for

the sunrise the morning I took this shot and got a glorious rendition

of the sky to set off the boat. Thanks for stopping by.

Superb photograph!  This has a painterly aspect to it that very much reminds of the landscape work of the English Romantic painter J.M.W. Turner.  Phil, I have to say that there is not one thing about this image that I would propose changing, it really is gorgeous just as it is.  Well seen, captured, and processed.  Cheers!  Chris

Thank you so much Christopher, such accolades!  I will have to do some research on Mr. Turner.  I really appreciate hearing your thoughts on this one!

A motive after my taste! Perfect comp. Like the peace and quiet atmosphere. The boat is "gone", but the landscape and nature live on. Cheers

Excellent image.love it.

I'd dare advice to open the frame to the right for the very special sky with the almost the same composition.

Either way- it's a wonderful work!

Thank you Hanan for the nice words.  I understand what you are saying.  I need to check my master to see if I have the info.  If so, I will give it a try.

i bet if you tried this again, you might not work so hard to pull everything into mid range.  it's a great picture, i would say, but the processing seems too hard.  it leaves it with a weird, grey look.  i'd let the sky punch out a little, and use no shadow recovery whatsoever.  best, jamie
