A 30 second exposure taken from the bed of my pickup. The wind was

blowing just enough to blur the foreground grasses and also some of

the canola blossoms. Thanks for looking.

Frank, like you, I've found the bed of a pickup makes a great shooting platform.  I really like one small item here, and that's the fence and drooping wire in the foreground -- I think that adds a lot to the photo.  I also like the slight movement in the clouds, and I think your overall composition is great.  I wonder how this would do if the exposure were on the order of a couple of minutes, resulting in a lot more movement in the canola and in the clouds, but with the buildings remaining sharp.  I've never tried that with moving vegetation -- just moving water; I often use a ND filter with a 10x exposure reduction factor to achieve that.

I generally use beanbags on top of vehicles when shooting frame like this. When there is wind even the sturdiest tripods tend to vibrate.

I like the composition a lot, i believe the tonal range is also good enough to try a good b/w conversion.

very nice shot

Stephen........what ever it takes to get the right angle. Passersby sure give you funny looks when your doing something like that. Have you ever been sprawled out on the ground next to a trail trying to see how something looks through the viewfinder when someone walks by? I should have tried a longer exposure with my ND but the mosquitoes were killing me and I was afraid I would lose all detail but now I wish I would have made the attempt. Thanks for noticing the fence line. I wasn't sure it would be enough of a foreground.

Giuseppe.....good suggestion. I'm going to give b/w a try with this. I thought the wind was moving the pickup too much but but apparently not.

Pierre......always nice to hear from you.

Ruud......thanks for stopping by.
