Doug, a really smooth transition from light left side to dark right side. flower is really gorgeous and seems to have been worth the long wait. nice work!

I can tell that much effort and attention went into this. And the result is appealing.  There is lovely DOF on this orchid.

Based solely on personal preference, I find the transition from very light to very dark is too much for me but keep in mind that many have said that they like this.  I realize that possibly you have overlayed part of the background into the green leaves and with time, I will probably learn to appreciate it more.

When one takes the time to reflect (correctly or incorrectly) how one feels about an image here at PN, this results in "kill the messenger" now or in the future.  It is lot safer to throw out a 'low' 'anonymous' rating and move on. Even better is to quickly write "Fabulous image".
