richard blount 0 Posted May 17, 2003 Hi Robert, This is what B&W photography is all about, I love the tonal range and you have handled it admirably, which for a digital camera isn't easy. The composition is superb and I find the subject interesting. There is so much in this picture I could mention, but I'll some up, it's simply brilliant, thanks for sharing. Richard. Link to comment
StuartMoxham 10 Posted May 17, 2003 Really stunning picture. Just shows you can do BW with a digital camera. Nice work Link to comment
bacsa 0 Posted May 17, 2003 you managed to use well the "hard sun". Love the sky too, it fits with the subject(s). Link to comment
nomade 1 Posted May 17, 2003 Excellent shot, and an strange architectural landscape, a church and a mosque... For the photographical's sake, I think the first building is so nicely shaped, that a shot of that only building would be enough. I.e. a "simplification" in this case would lead you to a better aesthetical result, IMHO.Anyway, that of course would be a totally different image, and maybe far beyond of what you're trying to show here. roberto4 0 Posted May 17, 2003 Hi Nestor, i made of course photos of both buildings separatly, even inside. But the opportunity to get a mosque and basilika together is rare. i intended to express to lost fight between the old small mosque ( closed and dirty) and the new big church ( just build 1991 in front of the old mosque). Guest Guest Posted May 19, 2003 stuart moxham wrote: "Just shows you can do BW with a digital camera" Well, I don't think anything displayed on this site (or on the web in general) can prove anything about doing B&W with a digital camera. Anything that is diplayed has to be scanned in some way, so black and white shot digital or black end white scanned from a real print end up looking alike, reduced to the lower common denominator of the two... Nice picture nonetheless... ;-) Link to comment

ddeacon 0 Posted May 19, 2003 Beautiful shot. I like the contrasts - light against dark, round against angular - and the perspective view with the menacing shadows to the left. Link to comment
roberto4 0 Posted May 19, 2003 i agree with you about digital/anolog. I think as well, that a picture taken with a digital camera, provides a very good template for Black and White. Link to comment
