scottmartinez 0 Posted May 16, 2003 Good job with the composition. I like the the stronger contrast of the exposure as well. It draws your eyes right to her face. Link to comment
s.wayne 0 Posted May 16, 2003 Scott & Peta, Thank you for your kind words. Jamie is a ballet dancer by vocation and just a wonderful model to work with. Dancers on the whole are a great group to work with when doing figure work. They have such an awareness of their body, position, etc.... Link to comment
doug bowles 0 Posted May 16, 2003 I like the pose. I also like the exposure - nicely done. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 17, 2003 Some movement with longer exposure could enliven the photo. I think you've composed her a bit too much to the right. Anyway, her expression is refined. I like the brownish tone and soft lighting. Good work! Link to comment

owen_omeara 1 Posted May 18, 2003 This is a beautiful image of a beautiful young woman. I agree with the comment that she looks healthy to me. Please post more images like this and make sure that some of them are of this spectacular model. Link to comment
jean_pierre_henri 0 Posted May 18, 2003 I love the rising lines of the rib cage, the unencumbered chest, the arms stretched upwards, and at the same time, the complete absence of tension. The model has a great "fluid" body, and the subtlety of the grays does full justice to her beauty. Great stuff ! Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted May 18, 2003 One of the best I've scene of this genre--a certain controlled tension. Link to comment
peta 0 Posted May 18, 2003 I agree with Jean-Pierre, and her body is very typical of a dancers, and when many of us strike that same pose, ribs will show. Figure type in this is not the issue, it's just all round a very beautiful photo. You are fortunate to have found such a lovely model. Link to comment
s.wayne 0 Posted May 18, 2003 I am fortunate indeed. I have had the real privilege to work with a number of remarkable models. My personal shooting style is one of complete collaberation with my models. They are equal contributors to the success of any of my images and on some days have been my "creative gas tank" when I run on empty. Link to comment
g1 0 Posted May 18, 2003 Oh so graceful and natural, which is extremely refreshing when having to sift through so many cliche glamour shots on sites like this (disclaimer: Please note, I am not filing this shot in the same category as glamour). And this is a gem of an example demonstrating how elegance can be captured with a nude. I like the model's comfortableness with herself, it really shines through, and of course the way you have handled the capture ie monotone, asymetrical positioning, along with the camera level and lighting. I like the idea suggested above about trying a longer exposure with motion trails. Not as a replacement for this is surely beautiful, but as an alternative on the same dance theme. Hell you could get a whole series out of this! Very inspiring. Link to comment
lightwriter2 0 Posted May 18, 2003 elegant. Nice lighting and good choice of backdrop. Link to comment
