Alex_Es 388 Posted July 11, 2011 I like this photograph very much. But the reason I like may shock the artist and some viewers. This is a natural beauty and the light is natural as well. But the pose is not "natural." It is a classical formal pose, hard and solid as bronze. What I find absolutely delightful is this classical beauty is sitting on a plain middle class 21st century couch. This is a wonderful collision of classical formalism (the pose) and contemporary informalism (the couch). I don't know what the original intension was but the result is terrific. Link to comment
clemsonguy 0 Posted July 11, 2011 @AlexI wish I had as much insight as you have or what you give me credit for! I never thought about it in your terms, but I love your thought. When I shoot, I give some minor direction to the models and let them know when something is not working or if something is working very well. In this case, I noticed the colors and asked her to sit a bit on the front edge of the couch. She is fairly new to modeling, but has a very high body confidence due to being an athlete. This is all her personality coming out. I will post some other images of her as I get time to complete them. Thank you so much for your comments. Link to comment

mike_palermiti 3 Posted July 11, 2011 Hi Clemson,I appreciate your sharing the details with me.I have an extensive collection of lens worldwide. My largest collection is of Nikkors. I lab test all the lens and use them on a rotational basis. However, whenever I obtain the details from any PN image posted, I can better correlate the real lab performance levels with those obtained in the real world. As a result, my data base for optics is larger than my lens collections combined !By the way, your setting of F/2.5 maximizes the performance capability of the very fine 105 Nikkor lens.Best Regards, Mike Link to comment
