My favorite in this folder. Nice sky tones. Great composition and framing

is what I see when I look at this photo. It is just so eye catching. The irregularity of the sleepers and the kink in the rail gives an impression of neglect. I live in the UK so this makes me feel at home...

 

One question, is the image tinted?

I removed the color, then changed it back to color, then used colorize and move the slider to the shade you see, all in PS 7. Before I started I croped it with a slight tilt.

In a black and white shot I really try to vary my shades quite extensively so that it has a little more contrast and appeal on first glance. This one seems to use a very small range of tones and what tones it does use are grouped side by side so as to not really get the full contrast. The perspective is fine, just needs more bang.
