amalsircar 2 Posted July 12, 2011 Pierre, one of your masterpiece of creative -work and original thinking. You have admirably created the illusion of Space with light & shade. Your choice of symbols is commendable. An image which should adorn the walls of a reputed Art Gallery of Modern Art. IMO, I knew the heaven is out of bound for a naive persons like me, who do not believe any religion. Link to comment
vbirke 0 Posted July 12, 2011 Stunning, Pierre. Where did you capture these gravestones? Are they from the 19th, 18th, or maybe 17th century? Or even ancient Roman ones? My interpretation of this appealing image is: daily life / jet set etc. is a really passing / transitory thing... Do you know Seneca's (the great ancient Roman philosopher) work "De brevitate vitae" ("On the Shortness of Life" - I think so)? Fits perfectly to your work here. Congrats, Pierre.Bw, Volker Link to comment

J. Perez 0 Posted July 13, 2011 Pierre, great image even if I am a little fuzzy on the concept. Are you implying that, if there is a God, he/she will deny "access" to Heaven based on which culture (e.g. Roman/western) you come from. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 280 Posted July 13, 2011 Senor Perez, something like that, I simply claim that we don't behave upon the will of God, we care too much for money, power and lust, greed...don't care for God and for the others! Something like that! And we are very similar to the Romans, the ancient ones! It doesn't mean that none of us will enter heaven, it's just in general, our civilizations goes i a wrong way I think!PDE Link to comment

olafdevries 0 Posted July 16, 2011 "Return from tomorrow" by George G. Ritchie, M.D. 1978 - Chosen Books, Grand Rapids.By lending my Dutch translation I couldn't be more specific in the comment before. By that my Irene did order a new one. :) "Return from tomorrow" has led to all the later study, forinstance by Raymond A. Moody Jr. with " Life after life." Pierre, you did a great, courageous job by presenting your image. Link to comment
rconey 296 Posted July 17, 2011 Mr. Dumas: I like your explanations. I was worried that you were making the grand statement that ALL descendents of the Roman Empire were excluced from heaven. Not so, as you say.To complicate things, I remind you that the Roman world was a descendent of the even older Greek world. Their view, per the Odyssey, was that the after life was a bland, colorless world where the spirits of all the dead simply congregated with nothing to do. While not heaven, in that storyline no one was denied access to the afterlife. This thought is just for fun. Regards. Link to comment
janienews 0 Posted July 18, 2011 I enjoy being able to read a whole narrative of my own imagination into the scene. The more I look, the more I enjoy it. It's quirky and fascinating. Congratulations. Link to comment
