sonneland 0 Posted July 9, 2011 Sam, have viewed this as a thumbnail many times and opened it up at least twice. i find the pink over saturated. the scene reminds me of a injured bird laying lifeless on some forgotten road. a lot of things don't work for me with this image. but its 10 out of 10 for that x factor. powerful work! mike_palermiti 3 Posted July 9, 2011 Hi SamOutstanding work with your 90mm lens set to F/4.The colors are what they are, but there is no over saturation in the color components that I have measured. Quality lens tend to develop color better then the norm, resulting in a vivid display. Best Regards, Mike Link to comment
carolyn_dyer 0 Posted July 10, 2011 This photo really caught my eye as I skimmed through this category. The vivid contrast of light and dark and the richness of the colors are particularly captivating. Also like the composition. Terrific photo ! Link to comment
samschnieders 1 Posted July 10, 2011 Thanks everyone for the comments. As far as the saturation level, it's pretty close to the real thing as the late afternoon sun was slanting through the trees. The shot was not too long after rain, so there may be some saturation there. I was inspired by the image because the mimosa flower had been run over - you can see it's on the pavement, but it still reached out for the light of life.Sam Link to comment
sonneland 0 Posted July 10, 2011 Sam, this image reminds me of a series of swallow images that were here a few years back. a car had hit and killed one, the series was on how its mate coped with the tragedy. as to over saturation it may very well not be, but it appears to be none the less. i just find this to be a powerful image, perhaps having something to do with the dead swallow laying on the road. terrific work!
