kahkityoong 0 Posted July 4, 2011 West Coast, NEW ZEALAND This is an abstract seascape that I’ve been meaning to shoot for years but the specific lighting conditions and type of beach needed to realize my vision had never materialized previously. As I had already photographed this location many times, I turned my attention towards a more ‘boring’ section of the beach. The way the waves rear up and collapse on the pebbles has always been of interest to me and I wanted to capture this action with an appropriate shutter speed. papasan 0 Posted July 5, 2011 This is really a beautiful and artistic rendition. The light of the sun reflecting gently in the water ads another dimension to this photo. Excellent work KK. Regards - michel Link to comment
stp 6 Posted July 6, 2011 I think the key here is a perfect shutter speed to record some detail as well as some movement in the cresting wave. The relatively narrow range of colors and soft light further contribute to the serenity and timelessness of the photo. I'm not crazy about the title you've given the photo, but that's a very personal decision and reaction. Link to comment
