stemked 4 Posted July 10, 2011 Iconic Jasper photo. However the mountains could use a touch more saturation in them. Typical of mountain shots they are a bit washed out. A polarizer or even UV filter would have helped a little. Link to comment
fred_zhang 0 Posted September 6, 2011 Very good composition. But white caped mountains are really washed out.So, you can set highlight smoothing as low as possible if you used HDR.Otherwise, try to take more pictures and +- 2 next time. Link to comment
friedemann_pistorius 0 Posted February 7, 2012 Rules are made to be broken. However, I would'n have placed the island in the middle of the picture, also the distant shoreline cuts the image in halves. Not well composed in my honest opinion, but otherwise a nice picture, I've been up there years ago, it's a truly magnificient scenery. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 7, 2012 Hi Peter, excellent work here. I see you have been offered a little advice by the last two posters, I think controlling highlights and loss of detail in zones 8,9,and 10 is always a fun challenge and something to be aware of but the range you captured here is still pleasing. The last post about the composition being off... Well I personally would ignore that one. there is nothing "wrong" with your composition here. It is a lovely serene portrait of nature with beautiful color and balance. Well done. Warm regards, Kelly Way Link to comment
friedemann_pistorius 0 Posted February 7, 2012 Kelly, to ignore a post might not be the best advice for someone asking for critique. I expressed my personal taste and opinion. As I see it that's what a critique forum is all about.Peter, based on your photo, this is a suggestion... Link to comment
