The sun peaked through the trees and lit this flower from behind and

slightly to the side. Critiques are always helpful. Thanks for looking.

Yes the background could be a distraction if this was a studio type shot or one that had a lot of post processing but my intent is to keep it as natural as possible. Now I will work on version 2 and remove the light color. Thanks. That was helpful. Take care, Deanna

Deanna, i also find b/g a bit distracting, but the warmth created by b/lighting especially flower center more than make up for it. nice work!

.........personally I'm not too fazed by the back lighting..... I think it adds warmth to the image. The colours are beautiful and I can see why you enjoyed taking the shot.

Well done here.

Look forward to comparing version 2 to this one.

Regards

My comment about a studio shot was referring to a nice back drop and perfect lighting that a studio gives. Outdoors with the light from behind didn't allow a different angle or background. Your comment about the distraction is perfectly valid and I hope you were not offended by my thoughts. Take care, Deanna

Hi Grayham. Thanks for the comment. This flower is so much fun. It is like some people who aren't especially attractive but look beautiful in a photograph. Each shot exposes something different with tiger lilies. I took a quick look at your work and am anxious to study it more. Take care, Deanna
