Like Tony, I would suggest a crop but I think that tweaking the light might help a bit too.  Looks like the chick has blue eyes.  I opened it in RAW, dropped the highs down a bit, kicked the saturation up while dropping the contrast, opened the image and did some minor dodging to bring up the chick.

Again it is a very nice series of parents in nature.You are really a story teller with your camera.  Beautiful compositions and color palette, add the titles and the story is told;-))
