Church in the kill devil hills remains lit as an approaching storm casts a shadow over the rest of the town.

Keep in mind all my pictures are scanned with a cheap, old scanner. Image cropped and sharpened in Photoshop to help accomodate for my junk scanner.

Doesn't get much better than this. I would try to put the church more to the right, but then it would get crowded, wouldn't it, because of the extended roof line. Did you try the same view, only a bit further away? Just wondering what would happen then. I just get a slight feeling of being cramped, but it is still an excellent composition, congrats.

Wow, thanks for the positive feedback! The image is pretty heavily cropped. That's about 1/3 of the original image so I was already pretty far away. I was standing on the highest sand dune on the East Coast, so all that was in the foreground was a whole bunch of sand dune taking attention away from the church. I didnt try any other angles. Im just starting out so ideas like this are really appreciated as I will try more angles in the future when Im out shooting. Thanks again.
