stp 6 Posted June 23, 2011 Such exquisite colors, and the composition resulting from the nearly 50:50 split is superb (the light pink in the sky and the rocks in the water make it possible). Link to comment
corbin 0 Posted June 23, 2011 Superb pastel colors, very nice long exposure. Simple and relaxing. My only objection would be the horizon line, which I find a bit too strong or dark - it clashes with the soft feel of the seascape. Link to comment
PeterKrenek 26 Posted June 23, 2011 No nitpicks from me, Jeff. Wonderful pastel colors, well composed. Indeed one can relax looking at the image, the ethereal look of the water soft transition and not too vivid colors make for a calm atmosphere. Best regards. Peter Link to comment
mikestacey 0 Posted June 23, 2011 I never tire of your Turimetta shots Jeff, maybe because most of my childhood beach trips were to Turimetta. The pastels and smooth tones always do it for me and the sharp horizon is one of the best parts of the image IMO. Link to comment
richard_john_edwards 0 Posted June 24, 2011 JeffLovely beach scene, i love the easterly skies in AU during winter, they give such a wonderful hue. I love the simplicity of this image, and of course love the colours, the small whispy clouds on the horizon also add interest.. To me the proportion of foreground and sky is really good, others like less sky generally, but to me this is a more natural view. I would have removed the small rock in the sand bottom right, i think its a tad distracting.Well done and another great shot for yoru collection. CheersRichard Link to comment

jeff.grant 0 Posted June 24, 2011 Thanks for all the feedback, folks. It is appreciated as always. Mike, it's funny that you should mention that. I spent quite a few days on Turimetta back when there was a narrow dirt track leading down to it. It was many years before I came back and discovered it as a rich source of images. Richard, that rock is part of my signature. I rarely remove them and they often draw comment. Like you, I love the eastern sky at this time of year. It is just superb, particularly just after sunset. lonebearimages 0 Posted June 24, 2011 This is like revisiting an old friend! Over the years I've come to appreciate and love seeing this wonderful set of rock slabs time and time again as you present it at different times of year and day. This is superb from top to bottom. Other-worldly and very Zen-like. Gorgeous color palette too. Well done! Cheers! Chris Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted June 24, 2011 Thanks Andrea and Chris. We have had some big storms lately. I was surprised to see more rock exposed than has been there for years. For me, seeing the rock again is definitely like catching up with an old friend. The sunset looked as if it was going to be very bland until some clouds materialised just in time to put on a lovely show.I was featured recently in a Malaysian photography magazine and was very happy that they chose a mix of old and new images. I would hate to be known only for what I did years ago. Link to comment

bobby_ho 0 Posted June 25, 2011 Very beautiful! It is simple yet contains enough details for the mind. I especially like the soft color and contrast, it is mind soothing. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted June 25, 2011 It is a beaty and shouts silence, because of the soft color. The rocks are looking like dark fishes swiming in the water.A real poetry of nature .Very nice technic and timing.(I agree about softening a bit the horizon line.) Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted June 26, 2011 Jeff, I am not sure I have much more to offer this excellent image that hasn't been said. For sure, you have my congratulations on a highly artistic and effective image. I believe rules are made to be broken. It is the rule not to break images in half with land and sky. As Stephen Penland said, breaking that rule makes this image truly effective. Regards. Larry Link to comment
