Very dignified.  I love the detail, not overly sharpened, but not lacking in crispness.

Lovely portrait of this stately gentleman, whose furrowed brow makes me wonder if he indeed was a 'true worrier'. But most of these people have very furrowed brows, so perhaps the 'times' they have lived through have been difficult.  Excellent use of light and very good black and white tones.

kind regards dear Mehmet, most sincerely, Gail

Agreeing with all of the positive comments above, I have a couple of observations myself.  First, I love B&W for portraits of people as I feel it is a classic medium and presents only the essentials of shapes, tones, and textures.  In this one I particularly like the exposure, with highlights not blown.  The fill light, from whatever source, does a fine job of illuminating his eyes though, in a perfect world, there would be a tad more to brighten that area.  Certainly not a deal breaker and likely easily remedied in PhotoShop if one so wished.  The sharpness throughout is excellent and combined with the white beard and dark background keeps the eye from wandering.  A most excellent portrait on so many levels.  I think you have another calling if you ever decide to give up medicine.  Best, LM.
