Derek,

Nice shot all around. I like the use of F/5 here , especially at this focal length.

I processed the image to show that there other details present.

Pierre, I disagree about the lack of details . Perhaps, Derek did not want to present as much detail development. The softer, brilliant yellow "splash" is quite effective as originally posted.

Best Regards, Mike

It is a nice shot but your background competes with the flower a bit more than it should.  It seems like it is about the same color strength.  I would contrast it more, but focus seems a little soft too.

I am still new (even after 40 years in photography) to digital post-processing, so I really appreciate your taking time to show me other "Outside-the-Camera" results.

I have largely shot either MF Slide or 35mm slide most of my life - and at times I forget that there can be 'MORE than is in the RAW' file on the CF card.

Hi Derek,

I can relate to those MF and 35mm format slide film days, too. I would spend many hours in the darkroom just to get a single image that was pleasing to me.

Now, it is much easier from those analog days, but it can be just as challenging to obtain the results that you want.

Best Regards,  Mike
