Ajayan,

You certainly recorded the total lunar eclipse color and nearby star.

However, the 4 second exposure with a 98mm focal length lens is too long, since the Earth's rotation was detected and this caused some blur in the image. A lesser exposure of 2-2.5 seconds would have provided a sharp image without the need to change any other settings.

The background in your image has some noise that appears like a brown tone, ,rather than pure black.

I have processed the image to improve the appearance a bit.

At least you recorded the event, and that will bring you many memories in the future.

Thank you Mike,

I agree with your suggestion. 4 sec is bit long and hence the blur is visible.  

I tried various combination to capture the eclipse. The one which came in a better way is provided here. How ever I could have increased  the ISO to get a sharper picture by reducing shutter speed, which I purposely avoided to avoin noise. 

The reddish black background is because of the near by city scape light.
