pauljames 0 Posted June 13, 2011 Hello All. Took this one at Mount Evans, 13,000 feet above sea level. The silhouette is a Bristlecone tree. Thanks for the comments! Link to comment
raybrizzi 0 Posted June 13, 2011 Just gorgeous. Makes you remember what the skies were like before we went crazy with security and street lights. Link to comment
mike_palermiti 3 Posted June 14, 2011 Paul,This is a technically well executed image. The use of a short exposure to keep the stars round and the excellent noise reduction resulted in a most delightful looking image.I am very familiar with the dark sky often seen at Mt Evans, as I have spent time (years ago) doing astronomical survey work with specialized instrumentation.Best Regards, Mike Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 65 Posted June 14, 2011 Great shot, Paul. I can see most of Sagittarius as well as the tail of the scorpion. Since you had to be looking almost due south to get this one, I am wondering if those are the lights of Colorado Springs to the southeast (Denver being due east and thus out of the picture, I presume).Do you mind sharing your exposure data with us on this one? Thanks, and again, great work.--Lannie Link to comment
