This is a 3 exposure HDR image with reasonably conservative tone mapping. Kudos to the model

for being able to hold very, very still through all three exposures. Thanks for any comments and

critiques.

I guess I'd have to see a 1-shot original, but I can't understand the need or purpose of HDR in this photo.  I suppose it will make the colors more saturated, but there are other ways to do that if one desires.  Even in the thumbnail, I can see that the photo is much less sharp -- even a person's breathing is going to cause movement over 3 exposures.  Why do HDR in this situation with this subject?

HDR is not about color saturation. It is about contrast. You cannot achieve the combination of contrast and saturation you see here using any other method.

By the way, the model was holding her breath. ;)

Yeah, I know all that.  I just can't imagine the contrast range being so great that HDR would be necessary (but maybe it was; it would be interesting to see the middle photo, the one that the meter said was "right on").  A side-effect of HDR is increased saturation; it's very evident in the flowers, and I'll bet the grass is greener in the HDR than a single photo would show.  As far as lack of sharpness, it clearly shows in her hair, even at this small size.  However, the grass at her feet is sharp.
