I think this is a rather unconventional portrait, the light is rather hard, pupils are very small, and the expression is very real and tells a story.

It is different from the posed portraits of models and the family portraits we often see on PN. It shows natural everyday life beauty. 

I would say, keep pushing the boundaries ...

Two things caught my attention here,first of course are this splendid big eyes and second ,as Paul says too, the melancholic expression.Effect of this tight crop is done IMO and I like the result,she looks so natural,my best regards.

Pierre, I like this photo a lot. I, too, prefer natural light and natural beauty. Some post processing is OK but most go too far. Not in this case. Excellent choice of cropping, framing and subject. Wonderful peice of work.
