Koki and Cream Our dog's name is Koki, hence the name. This picture was a candid. My wife and the dog were asleep. When I turned on my camera, they both woke up, and I snapped this about the next second.

Almost certainly camera was on full automatic, or aperature priority. This image was converted from color to B&W in Photoshop. The image is manipulated in that the cushion the dog is on was torn, and I digitally repaired the tear in Photoshop.

This picture was a candid, hence the classification as "Pets" rather

than portraits. Our dog's name is Koki, and my wife and the dog had

fallen asleep on the couch. When I turned on my camera, they both

woke up, and I snapped this picture about 3 seconds after.

As I noted when I posted the file, this version of the picture has

been Photoshop altered. First, it was converted from color to B&W.

Second, since it was a candid, the pillow to the right of the dog's

head was ripped, and I digitally removed the tear.

you might catch them sleeping next time 1) with a non-digital camera 2) 3-4 years later with a new digital camera with faster start up times!

Experience has taught me to turn on and ready my camera in another room before attempting to photograph sleeping objects. That said, the bright shining eyes do add something to the photo.
