"Skybolts"

Jim...I love to watch bi-planes.  This is excellent and you picked the right shutter speed to blur the prop.  Good work.

Great catch..... both planes are in focus, and the background is enough out of focus so it makes the planes stand out.  We just had an air show here, and I was so hoping to get to it.  Didn't make it......hopefully next year!

Although these two Skybolt Experimental Aircraft are of the same

design, there is considerable differences between the two aircraft (Not

just paint schemes) when you get close to them.

Jim. Your latest collection of flying machines makes my eyes happy. I'm really glad you're back into airshows. After all on this very gallery there's not too many photo enthusiasts for arishow shootings.

However this particular one is basiclly most atractive photo. Pair of attractive looking birds in low flight with exceptional wiev angle give one a a feeling of true motion.

I don't know this "brand" and on the first sight I thoutght it is a pair of Eagles,

I'm almost envy you to get so many great photos which are really special.

I missed a big show last weekend called Aviofun2011 and this sutarday I'm going on a local airfield to take some photos of plane models. And If I'll be lucky in the beginnig of july I'll attend a big show in Zelltweg in Austria, hopefuly I'll get press acreditation.

I'm really looking forward to see more of your machines.

I got to spend some time with the Owner's of these two aircraft. Basically the Skybolt is based on the Pitts Special design but much larger. According to both Owner's/Pilots, the larger size of the Skybolt is not quite as "snappy" as the Pitts for aerobatics, but "much easier to handle for day to day normal flight."

Both of these Skybolts are "Two place" aircraft, the yellow/blue was an open cockpit configuration while the red/grey/white Skybolt was equipped with a sliding bubble canopy.

Both were exceptionally built aircraft.
