A Rose From Years Gone By

I truly think I'm blushing....I've only been at this for a few years and have so much to learn. But I try to learn at least one new skill a day, if I can. But I do love being on the artistic side.  However, I do need to spend much more time on my technical skills and basically learning all that my camera can do. But when the sun is out, or at least if it is not raining, I try to get out and take a few shots.

With your years of experience, I'd never expect such an encouraging critique, and they truly do inspire me to work harder.  As far as the ratings go, when you cannot give someone a 7 when they have given you one in the last 2 weeks, but to me the words of encouragement mean just as much. I don't get my 'knickers' in a knot about the ratings anyways.  Yes, I do not think it fair if someone rates you low when the photo has evidence of more skill....I just look at where it is coming from. People (at least there will always be some) who would be more eager to tear you down than build you up. Yes 'cruelty' exists even in 'rating' photos. But why get all upset about it, I'll never change them, for they get a 'kick' out of getting that REACTION! You have to really be a sad individual to be like that don't you think???

Folks are so busy these days that I feel blessed if they actually take the time to share their thoughts on my compositions. And I do feel blessed to receive such encouraging words as you just left, I sincerely thank you for taking the time  to share your thoughts with me. When I read your techinical Data, I still don't always understand that, but I like to see it, it's a great way to learn.
