nice capture of this beautiful bird, although it seems something is missing and that would be the rest of his/her body - At present it seems the head is suspended in the dark air till it falls down! ;)

I like the idea of the head by itself. Its the equivalent to a person's portrait, head shot only. Its interesting and different and the staring eye(s) contribute to the whole feel. Nice sharpness, too. If anything I would have placed the head off the center, towards the left bottom corner.
