Not sure about the crop. My eyes seem to want this being a squareby slicing some part of the right side from the picture.

 

Maybe a slight pan downwards to show more of the rubbish.

this is just beautiful. The detail is amazing. I agree with of a couple others as the trash is a bit disconcerting but then again maybe the contrast really adds sometlhing to the overall beauty. In any case well done my friend, best regards, rek.

I'm not a big fan of the rubbish, as it competes for attention, and you could use less smoothing (did you use Neat Image?), but the lighting and detail in the heron are tremendous.  Nice background as well.
