aarkp 2 Posted May 25, 2011 while i like Chuck's rework, it turns a surreal portrait into a standard modern one... Link to comment

John Peri 1,039 Posted May 27, 2011 A striking portrait with painterly qualities reminiscent of Flemish works of the 15th,16th century. A remarkable piece actually, I like it very much. Link to comment
JPPhoto1664880217 7 Posted May 27, 2011 As John says, it reminds one of a Flemish portrait. One deviation from this is the eyes, they are striking. Excellent! Jim Phelps Link to comment

tonyfrench 0 Posted May 28, 2011 Pierre, I agree that this is a very striking portrait with those wonderful eyes. I also like the closeness of the framing with the strong vertical emhasis. Link to comment
brano_k 0 Posted May 29, 2011 Pierre, I think that big camera manufacturers are going to have a nice chat with you, to convince you how it is NOT possible to make photos like this using snap shot cameras. Couple of guys in back suits will explain that you, and all of us, need super-duper full frame SLRs, monstrous lenses, and who knows what just to get such a vibrant and lively portrait. So, get your act in order and start using cameras that have many zeroes in their listed prices. Joking aside, there is real true to life photo here. Bravo! Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 309 Posted May 29, 2011 And the immense support! Highly appreciated!Brano, this is a full frame camera, only with film and I even don't have a descent scanner for negatives! It is true that a lot of point & shoots have great optics and are to be taken seriously, film or digital! And the digitals have a great macro possibilities mostly so that one needn't spend a lot of many for macro lenses, extension tubes, ring flashes etc only to be able to take a descent medium macro shots!PDE Link to comment
