dmitry_gringauz 0 Posted May 7, 2003 Very good photo. A little too busy for my taste, though, remind me more of spiderwebs than waves. Link to comment
navarra 0 Posted May 7, 2003 Very evocative. I'm not sure I like the tree in there, but maybe the picture would look too empty without it. Simone Link to comment
mg 0 Posted May 8, 2003 Nice, Vlad. The only suggestion would be to cut down a little on the blue perhaps... Should be very nice in B&W too... Regards. Link to comment
jimmcnitt 0 Posted May 8, 2003 A simple scene, perfectly composed and exposed. There's something about the way you cropped the tree, with just a hint of the spreading branches, that really gives this scene it's high level of visual interest. Still, aren't you glad it's finally Spring? Link to comment
andrew_greeley1 0 Posted May 8, 2003 I think I prefer the coloured version. For some reasons Snow in b&w doesn't really convey the feeling as well. Very nice. Link to comment
marlene_degrood 0 Posted May 8, 2003 Vlad......great composition and skill in capturing the dimension of the snow drifts. Link to comment
galina stepanova 0 Posted May 8, 2003 Hi, Vlad. Between this two I again prefer the color version. Good composed, interesting look. Link to comment
peta 0 Posted May 8, 2003 This will look mighty good in less than a month! I will think of it as I mow in 90+ temps. Lovely composition Vlad. Link to comment
vlad po... 1 Posted May 9, 2003 Thanks everybody, I appreciate very much your stopping by to comment and rate on this picture. Simone, you are right, without that tree there, probably, won't be completed composition, just pure experiments with snow surface. Jim, I'm glad that it's finally Spring, however, over long Minnesota winter I've collected a number of images I want to work on and upload for critique...and, probably, Peta also somehow answered your question...maybe some people will like snow, especially when it would be hot summer season. Marc, below is attached edited image with blue color down. What I did, I desaturated Cyans (-40) and Blues (-20). As for B&W, it can be checked out at http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=1476815. I like it too, but it has collected so far 7 ratings 5.57/5.29 (A/O). Link to comment
mg 0 Posted May 9, 2003 Thanks for your reply. I think your B&W version would need an addition of contrast, but after seeing it and seeing also the desaturation version you attached here, my vote goes to the color desaturated version. Regards. Link to comment
audrey lee reid 0 Posted May 9, 2003 What an interesting shot - like it very much as is. Link to comment
vlad po... 1 Posted May 16, 2003 Thanks Marc and Audrew for the feedback. B&W version with the ratings collected can be seen below. Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted October 29, 2003 It's a striking natural abstract. B&W version is equally attractive. Link to comment
