I agree with Mr. Dumas: a good, simple flower portrait. I think I would have toned down the bright background a bit as it distracts some from the subject.

Doug, your title more or less tells it all. a suggestion would be to try reversing image where it leads from the left and goes to the right, the direction our eyes naturally  take. think would also give some consideration to cloning away lone stem upper left as its isolation really highlights it and makes it stand out especially with your white b/g more than what it should. sounds like i don't like your image, but i actually think it's just grand, just needs a wee tune up. i like the vividness of your greens and the white is smooth as silk. anyway these are just my opinions. nice work!

Thank you Pierre, Richard and Roger for taking the time to comment - always appreciated so that one can improve. Pierre, yes, the white was there so I did try to keep it as I saw it. I think I did that. Richard, I actually wanted the blazing white in the background to accentuate the green tones even more, given the backlighting.

Roger - reversing is a thing I seldom do, although I agree with your logic and will give it a whirl. I also HAD seen the stem at top left and was going to clone it out but just didn't, although I agree that I should have.
