mikestacey 0 Posted May 12, 2011 Sometimes I hate adhering to the "rules" - but the rule of thirds seemed to be the only way with this subject. Link to comment
Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted May 13, 2011 Mike, This looks like an impressionist painting. I think of Monet and his contemporaries as I admire the soft pastel capture you have created. Best regards, Larry. Link to comment

mikestacey 0 Posted May 13, 2011 thanks all and glad you like.Jeff it's Lake Eyre North. Looking at it I think a wider view would have brought that cloud in a bit better. Link to comment
stp 6 Posted May 14, 2011 Wonderful and soft colors. I like contrasts, and that small bit of dark vegetation contrasts so nicely with the sky and its reflection, and it adds "something" to the photo. The rules are really guidelines because much of the time they do help the aesthetics of the photo, but then the exceptions are often striking as well. Knowing when to put the guidelines aside is key, and it's also a part of one's personal style. IMHO, of course. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted June 25, 2011 A long time...;-)) I join the rest as it is so delicate and peacefull. I think that this little small vegetation make the difference as it is a point of ballance for the whole composition. Beautifully done. Link to comment
