With a red filter. Hot lights, no flash, on location in abandoned hotel in downtown Seattle. Leveled in PS.

Marion, like the picture or hate the picture. But don't question my motivations. This is not "Personal Philosophy.Net".

=) I like your shadow on the wall - and if its just me making stuff out of thin air, forgive me, but I like the double meaning - the mask on your face could be red, but the red filter on this photo could also be another "red mask." Composition is good, good sharpness, and you've created a scene with a lot of eye candy - the floor board, the foil blanket wrapped around you - very nice pattern you made with the blanket - the gidget in the lower right corner...

Amy, you started out so tame, why didn't you do stuff like this in the beginning :-p

I like it. Just had to ask... I remember a photo where you were looking for a way to recreate this red look you got in it. Is the red filter now the shortcut? Just curious if you had any luck duplicating that effect without filters.

Not very interesting. Your old work was more interesting and sensual. This is just boring. But, it is good to experiment and develop your art so keep it up.

I wouldn't have used the same language, but as I said earlier, I agree with the content of the message above. However I don't hate it either, it's just predictable and well ... a little boring. I do like your early stuff though Amy.

Always like checking in to see your work, Amy. This one seems to miss the mark with me, and it's not the red. I think it's the stark background with a "cluttered" model. Maybe too much detail in the model and the shadows? Hard to figure it out...

I like how you seem to be looking out from the eyes of a predatory monster, but there is something that detracts from it. Like the person before me, I can't really put my finger on what it is.

I think you're onto something here, but it can be improved as the others have said. I think you've got too much white space on the left and all the action is on the right. With a large depth of field and even lighting, you've got a normal picture here. I'd suggest to get rid of the even lighting, light only the wall on the left enough to reflect highlights on the figure, and take a picture of the figure's highlights. Maybe even include a little bit of the glow from the wall. Leave the rest in shadows. This will bring out the mystery and intrique and stimulate obsession. Don't show all the detail, but instead, leave more to the imagination.
