I would like to congratulate you on your new lens.

I very much appreciate your posting LARGE images and posting the EXIF details.

I have had great fun looking at this set of Football Photos - but I expect not as much fun as your using your new lens to make them.

(I think the Goal Keeper’s expressions are priceless)

I am surprised with the (amount of) noise in this image.

I would expect a little less at ISO3200: but perhaps you did have to underexpose it a bit to pull Tv = 1/250s – I have done that before - to keep the shutter at a “doable” speed for the sport and situation concerned.

Anyway I had fun looking at these and only came here because you just commented on an old thread about Basketball lenses - on which I had an email alert  - and I thought to myself “who is commenting on such an old thread” – well it seems it is a very nice bloke indeed  - with  new lens.

Enjoy that 300/2.8 – I expect it will be at several night time fixtures!
