zwyoung 0 Posted May 4, 2011 Do not understand how he can catch 2 fish in such a short time in the water. Anyway, real fast in the air and in the water too. Link to comment
mike_palermiti 3 Posted May 4, 2011 ZW,What a fine capture. And an unusal one ,indeed. Good job !Your shutter speed and ISO were not stated in the "details".For those people starting to shoot action/nature with slower zoom lens, I recommend that you share this information on shots like this. More information anwers question like stated below:Did you use high ISO ? Did you use the Image Stabilization feature ? What was the focal length selected for this shot ? Shutter speed ?I do not require the answers, since I too use the Sigma 150-500 lens for some nature work.Regards,Mike Link to comment

zwyoung 0 Posted May 5, 2011 It was 9:30am, fair sunshine as at wide open f/5.6 ISO 1600 I could only get 1/3200 s on my D300, even down by -1.0ev. Focal was 250mm. OS was off. Actually, when the bird just came out of water, they are not that fast. You can catch it right even at lower speed. One more thing, picture control sharpening you need to set it up to 9, then you can get the righ sharpness and color even, of course only when you work with Sigma 150-500 lens.Cheers, ZW Link to comment
tm_j 30 Posted May 5, 2011 Yikes, great catch ZW Young! First shot that I ever seen a of a King Fisher with two fishes in the beak ever. For the moment and the two fishes it's definitely ... not easily or possible to duplicate again, IMO. May I ask where this was taken ? Link to comment

dzaebst 0 Posted April 15, 2012 Wow...this may be the best kingfisher action shot I have ever seen. Truly a contest winner! I second all of the above comments. Incredible and most likely unique. Thanks! Link to comment
