edlark 0 Posted May 14, 2003 My favorite of your recent uploads. One of the things that I really like about your "Texture and geometry" stuff is how well they work when completely divorced from the subjects and analyzed simply in terms of color and shape. Many of your images have more of a feel of abstract painting than of photographs. Link to comment
mmmee 0 Posted May 15, 2003 OOOoo cool. You are doing your minimalist Zen thing on this one again. What is it about that beige and green combination that is so very relaxing and attractive? The proportions of color in each block of different color is what balances the photo, I think. Hmmmm, lovely to view and view and view. Is it the potters studio, with the kiln in there also? wenger 0 Posted May 17, 2003 Nice catch Jeroen. This is the kind of subject matter that many of us (regrettably) would overlook. One of the things that I think really helps this is that you caught it at the right time. Mid-Summer or Fall the grass probably would be much darker and not have the nice yellowish texture that keeps it light enough to compliment the building's colors. Good job. -Tom Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted May 20, 2003 Jeroen, this image has two characteristics that are inherant in the Dutch; it's economical and to the point, but attractive at the same time. It looks a little like a flag. It also appeals to my modernist taste. I notice the pattern in the window mimics the pattern of the image, or vice versa - very clever. Link to comment
jeroen wesdorp 0 Posted June 3, 2003 Thank you all for your kind comments! I actually typed an extensive answer before I enjoyed some vacation - even with links to cool modernist and De Stijl images - but it went pear-shaped in the process of uploading. Suffice to say, that I am indeed very much intrigued by modern art. I'll be off looking for the just right Rothko or Newman or Van der Lek online now. You could be right about the kiln, Margaret, but it's a school. Most probably a kindergarten. Best regards, Link to comment
dave_nitsche 0 Posted July 25, 2003 Boy I wish I could put my finger on it but I really like this shot. Not my usual cup of tea but really outstanding. I think it is the detail and texture you have captured. Just wonderful... Dave PS - Hope all is well. Removed myself from PT. Didn't think it was fair to continue since time is so limited... I hope to stay in touch with the few friends I made, you being one of them... Link to comment
