Hi Scott,

A nice scene.

I commented before on another bird shot taken with your 300mm lens at F/9.

Here you used F/11, which does not favor any definition to be developed by your 3oomm lens. This same shot taken at F/5.6 or F/4 or less (if possible) would be much better.

Using the aperture stop too much always reduces the performance of a good lens, no exceptions.

Use your ISO and shutter speed setting to control the exposure, and only if that is not possible, go to the next stop down.

I rarely shot my fine lens below F/4 during the day, unless they have a starting F-stop of F/5.6.
