joewhite 0 Posted April 18, 2011 It has been, indeed, and your poor tired flower shows it...but at the same time holds the promise of warm days and perhaps, with luck, a pollinator? Link to comment
lintrathen 15 Posted April 18, 2011 Hi Randy....... I've not come across your portfolio before (so many PN members) but I notice a wide variety of images there. You have asked for a critique on this one, which would have made it easier if you had uploaded the exif at the same time. Nevertheless, I'll give it my best shot............!Unfortunately I cannot enlarge it here on PN, but I have a concern about the point of focus, in that I cannot locate a definative "tack-clear" focus point. Flora tends to be very cluttered in it's natural environment and your image certainly portays this....... therefore it is important to isolate the principle subject by means of clarity. I believe that had the bloom been "tack-clear", the DoF through to the background could have provided unobtrusive support to this image. Not knowing the prevailing scenario (climate/lighting etc.) I probably would have used spot metering and the same for Autofocus.... but hey!, that's subjective. The nice thing about shooting flowers is that you have the opportunity to remove the debris.... if you so wish.Regards Link to comment
