Interesting image. Why are all the candles there? is it some sort of memorial?

last year this day there was a terrible plane crash near Moscow with Polish president on board, members of parliament and governtment, members of families who were going to attend a memorial of Khatyn. Who is interested, can google it. I understand that there was a memorial.... I agree, that the photographer should add a few words . It was interesting for me to look through the pictures. My heart is with the families of those who died.
