exercise. The items lose is real value and become only lines, surfaces and textures.

I really like this decomposition from left to right: the first door is blue and is surrounded by gray bricks, the window (in the center) is covered with gray bricks inside the red wall of finer texture and the door on the right echoes the first one, that is blue, but like the window is within the red wall.

The vertical line that divides the two areas is in a very balanced place.

Also the rectangle on top left: it is proportional to the doors and window but is horizontal and is made by different material and texture.

After that each flaw or detail of the scene are exploited (the subtly green line over, the yellow line at the bottom of the window, the rust on the door at right... everything is useful!).

This seems work of a painter but a painter can invent.
This image had to be hunted!

Miguel, thank you for taking the time to analyze my photograph. This is a building I pass almost every day, but I had never really "seen" it before. It's in one of the seedier parts of town, so I really had to convince myself to stop and take the photo. JR
